Maggie Grace and Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on September 21, 1983 in Worthington Ohio is an American actor. She is best known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively in ABC's Lost television show. Following the divorce of her parents her parents separated, she moved to Worthington, Ohio to live at Los Angeles. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first role as Rachel's Room's title character the web-based video show Rachel's Room in 2001. In 2002 she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley. Grace Rutherford was the main actor in Lost in its two initial seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace left the show in order to concentrate on her professional film work. The actress had been on the show with Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) in Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. The role was reprised in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is a modern version of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes playing Shannon. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season which ran from 2013 to 2014. The character she plays is Faith who's an avid stargazer as well as a the girl in the group. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She's a Gyllenhaal. child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is more senior than Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager, she began to work in small roles for her father and appeared in Donnie Darko with her brother. She also was featured as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002) and the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) each of which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination. She gained wider recognition for her role as Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films she starred in during the year 2006. The year 2009 was the time she was nominated as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mom as she appeared in Crazy Heart. She then played in comedies and dramas which included Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 Her other roles include an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal's first film as a filmmaker and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama that won her an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
